Experiences of Social Workers Who Respond and Assist Vicitms of Domestic Violence Who Own a Pet

The purpose of this study is to explore, describe, and understand the lived experiences of social workers who respond and assist victims of domestic violence who own a pet. This study will help identify the stressors and barriers social workers experience when assisting these victims.


This study consists of an interview with social workers. The interview will be recorded and transcribed for data analysis. The interview is approximately 45 min to 1 hour in length. The interviews can be done via Zoom or phone call. Interview questions will focus on the experiences social workers have when assisting victims of domestic violence who own a pet. There is no compensation for this study.

Compensation and Expectations

A gift card will be emailed to the participant after a completed interview.
