Parents’ Perception of Their Special Needs Children’s’ Mental Health during Rapid Transition to Online Learning at the time of COVID-19 Pandemic
This research seeks to capture and amplify parents' voices, providing critical insights into the unique struggles faced by their children and advocating for more responsive educational and mental health policies in future crisis situations.
The study seeks 8-12 participants who are:
• Parent or guardian of a special needs child
• Child was in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade during the COVID-19 pandemic (2019–2021)
• Child experienced increased anxiety, depression, social isolation, etc.
Inclusion criteria:
•Parents of children with special needs in grades 2–4 during the 2019–2021 school year.
•Child experienced increased anxiety, depression, social isolation, etc.
Purpose of study: The purpose of this study is to explore what are parents' perceptions of their special needs children’ mental health during the rapid transition to online learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
